It gives people with “normal” kids a glimpse into our world of parents with special needs. Every time she says something she says mother first to know she has my attention. She is so focused on what she wants and does not take no for an answer. The patience it takes on a hourly daily monthly yearly level that her body grows and gets older but her mind never will. Speech is difficult to understand yet I always know what she’s saying. She can watch the same thing over and over and gets upset when it doesn’t work right or cooperate so she can. Like the movie - what places are there? She too lives in a facility with older residents. After 30 concerts She did get to meet her hero Michael w Smith. She will never drive and has to depend on us for everything . As a parent realizing her needs and her limited abilities and for me to accept when she gets locked into something to be able to accept where she’s at and not get mad.
