Love Begets Love

A hug, a kind word, or just being there ruminates with goodness.
"You are looking more beautiful than ever."
“I look forward to spending time with you."
" Your funny stories always make me laugh!"
Please and thank you are powerful words.
"Is there anything I can do for you today?"

Good manners coupled with compliments will most always be returned.
If not, use them anyway. It doesn't cost anything to say something nice to another or the one you have chosen to spend the rest of your life with.

Thinking about the 'other' person, no matter who they are, is a sure pathway to love. It doesn’t have to be something extravagant to show appreciation and love. Often it is the little things that bring a smile. Kindness spoken in sincerity keeps the flame burning in a bonfire of love and devotion.

When I consider all the thoughtful gestures from my husband, I can overlook any shortcomings, remembering I have faults too.

A phone call before he leaves work to ask:
"Is there anything you would like me to get at the store?"
I do not have to tell him when I am exhausted at the end of the day. He notices
and cleans up after dinner.

When asked the secret of our happy marriage, I like to say: "Treat your spouse like your best friend and they will be." Remember manners even if you are tired and don’t feel like it. They are there to use and are free. Ask your friend or mate: "How was your day?" People like to know they are loved and appreciated.

And I never forget how much spark friends mean to me- emoticon -Thanks for the kindness you have shown me along the way.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Indeed, love does beget love. When I was in the ER recently... the waiting room and all the beds were full, and people waiting were getting grumpy with the staff. I was pleasant and polite with the triage nurse, and she was obviously grateful that at least one person was appreciative of her efforts, and she even thanked me several times. That’s a minor example, but it reinforced my desire to always try to be pleasant and polite, and to approach a situation with love in my heart... no matter what!

emoticon blog, Jan. You are right. Love begets love, and love triumphs over all.
I was taught to live by the "Golden Rule" which I strive to do each day. Unfortunately many have forgotten this little "gem" for living, and the key to happiness.

Beautiful Blog, Jan. I was thinking of my daughter and her soon to be husband while reading it. Hope you don't mind if I share it with them.
Everyone needs this reminder. Especially those going through hard times who don't see a light at the end of their tunnel yet.
So many things as a parent I could tell them, but usually they don't listen anyway. They go on fiercely fighting for their own independence and don't think about how they absolutely "NEED" each other to get through each battle together.
God Bless you for sending the right message when needed. It's like you read my mind. emoticon

I always say that kindness begets kindness! We travel a lot and the words thanks and please are used by so many of the people we meet. Or they hold a door open at a gas station when they are in a hurry. I could tell you many a story about all the kind people in this world. Then there is SP. I feel there is more kindness here than anywhere we have been.
MY hubby and I have been together almost 49 yrs. We just celebrated our 48th and I think we both feel there is more love between us than in the beginning. God bless kindness and love.

I loved your blog. It's not always easy to execute because I'm rather moody, but you lay out the case for kindness very well. And the ripple effect is real--kind actions spread like ripples (so do unkind ones), so not only does it feel good to be kind, but it's also in our best interests, because whether we know it or not, we ALL benefit from having more happy people in the world, even if they're in opposite hemispheres.

You and your husband are truly blessed to have found each other.

These things make such a difference. My husband and I make sure to show appreciation for even little things and we compliment often. Now that I am dealing with a difficult parent without a filter who insults often, I find any kindness from strangers melts my heart. I made sure again today to tell my favorite dental receptionist how much her kindness means to me and how good she is at her job. She always laughs when i come for my cleanings or to have work done, because she feels she is just doing her job. Heck even a thank you for holding a door makes me feel good. When you have verbal daggers thrown at you, a few kind words can provide a buffer.

What an emoticon blog, Jan. If we could all adopt this way of life; of being kind to those we know and even those we don't know, maybe our world would be a little less violent. Hopefully, a lot less violent.

We live in the country and have several Amish neighbors. As a rule, they keep to themselves and are quiet in the presence of The English (which is how many of them refer to us). One night, a young couple slid off the road in their buggy and ended up in the ditch in front of our house during a snow storm. Luckily, I was checking for my husband to drive in when it happened. Ken came home right after they slid in and between the two of us, we checked for any injuries and brought them into the house to stay warm. Ken and Simon (the Amish man) shoveled a path back up to the road and led the horse down our driveway. They stayed for supper; the snow had stopped; and there wasn't a lot of it to drive the buggy through, so they left for home. They must have thanked us a million times, but the best Thank You of all was that after that night, we had new friends who felt comfortable enough around us to share a meal at THEIR house, and to visit us often.

It is amazing what a smile or a kind gesture can do.

Long ago, my hubby and I decided that we would never call each other names as some couples do when they fight or ague. We don't say bad words to one another. We don't always agree, and we do raise our voices at times, but we always work it out and come to some kind of understanding and always there is love at the root of whatever is going on.
Kindness is vital to marriages. People need to realize that words spoken can never be taken back, use kindness and be sweet to one another always.
    Great blog, great thoughts!

Great Blog. I totally agree. Treat others the way you/'d like to be treated. You are no better than anyone else. Some people forget that. No matter what the other person looks like (large, small, in-between) it doesn't matter.

Great blog!! We need a reminder every now and then, it is so simple to be kind to another person.

Our little town has a wonderful coffee shop and the only place in town that makes breakfast, unless you like fast food breakfasts! We get visitors from all over and of course us regulars notice a stranger amongst us!
Almost everyone will tell them good morning and eventually go visit with them and find out where they are from and where they are headed. I hope that doesn't sound nosey, because we really do care. The owner's mother, who is quite elderly, makes pot holders and crochets around kitchen towels. Each couple or single visitor that comes in receives a free gift of both, choice of colors, and they are always surprised and thrilled about it. Most will say that they have never had that happen in their cross country visits. emoticon

Thanks for sharing your blog, it is so wonderful to hear the words that can lift ones spirit, especially if they are having a tough day. When I am somewhere I always have a smile ready for someone, or say hi, words that are kind because you never know who could use some kindness . Isn't it wonderful that we may be the person to lift their spirits even for a moment? It is rewarding to me to think I was that person who just brightened their day for even a moment. Love the pictures on your blog today too.
