Medical Diagnosis and My Journey
Wednesday, October 16, 2019
Well, today was the day. I finally got a diagnosis of a DVT and a severe infection in my left calf. They've been treating me as if I had both for several days, but there was always hope that the condition would improve by itself and I could be on oral antibiotics.
I was so upset after I got the diagnosis, all I wanted to do was go and eat my frustration away. In the past, that's exactly what I would have done. Today, was different. After working through my emotions and speaking with some of my supports. I got off my butt and went on with the day.
I felt better after awhile as the news sunk in and my mind had time to process it. I came to the Sparks website and did some tracking and reading of blogs, articles, etc. I was able to plan my meals and exercise for the next few days. I vowed to finish drinking my 8 glasses of water and writing about how all this is making me feel.
In a nutshell, this site has saved my life more than once. Without the community support, without the quick access to the articles and suggestions I would be burying my sorrows in food and putting my health in a much more precarious state.
So off I go for the next day. Dealing with whatever is put in front of me and knowing I have the tools to deal with it without sacrificing my hard work to improve my health
