I am sure old school

Tuesday, October 22, 2019

We went down for our yoga class and no instructor, no notice of cancellation, no worker at the gym for any information. Instead of wasting the time we worked out. Finally the front desk person came in and she asked your not doing yoga today? We said she never showed up and the front desk person said that’s odd she’s always here. She made a couple of calls and said she’s not coming back she quit. She got another job and can’t do both. Back in the old days there was respect for your employer, longevity and consciousness. My son being the same age does the same thing. He does something for awhile and just decides he’s not going to do it anymore and goes on to the next. He never gives a notice, or advance warning, he just never shows up and avoids all calls and corespondent. Such different times from when I grew up which makes me realize I am now old!!!!!

I don't think of you as old, I think you are refined! Never stop doing what is right. Keep being you.

The New Age ? No discipline-- no care for others.

Today a majority of businesses have no respect for employees or customers. They raid pension funds, employee everyone part time so they don't have to pay benefits, lay people off or just reduce their hours to nothing. Minimum wage has dragged behind inflation since 1968, it used to be enough to support a small household. Bad bosses seem more numerous than ever. Corporations have bought off the government and the laws are now in their favor, never on the side of honest, hard working people. Young people have never lived in that other world, where a company took care of their employees, and some people worked at the same place their whole lives. A lot of young people can't meet their basic needs, and are often not treated with loyalty and respect. They've learned to be tough and selfish to survive, and then everyone blames kids these days for not being saints. Yes, sadly, the world has changed. Sorry about your yoga class. I hope they find a new instructor for you soon. Take care.

I recently heard this topic discussed on the radio. Yes, it's a totally different world in many ways.
