Is Independence Worth Fighting For?

Have you ever noticed what happens to your home you if you let things go for any length of time? Stuff piles up; after a frantic search your car keys are found buried beneath a stack of papers! You were sure you put that important receipt on your desk, but it is nowhere to be found! Likely none of us would let things go that far but it paints a picture.
It is a lot harder to clean up a chaotic mess than it is to keep things picked up.
But what about the body we live in? Do we put ourselves last-thinking we can't find enough time? Do we play second fiddle to everything else that comes along?
Have you ever thought- if something happened to you and you couldn't take care of yourself? What would happen to our cars if we did not maintain them. They would wear out sooner and possibly break down when we are dependent on them.
Our loved ones wish for us to stay strong and healthy, to be around a long time. I know that is my wish for those I love and cherish.
I invest time wisely with exercise and healthy habits so I can stay independent , drive my car, clean my own house, and enjoy life. Why procrastinate until January 1 to make a resolution when we can commit to taking care of ourselves every day. Don't take the risk to put off good intentions until later.
Make exercise a part of your day and it will soon become routine. Don't wait for things to break down. Give your body the nourishment and rest it needs.
Can we afford to gamble with our health, and assume our bodies will stay as healthy as we were a decade or more ago?
There's a price to pay for good health. It is time and investment, but what benefits and dividends are reaped, helping us maintain our independence.
Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope you have a terrific day!
