I believe there are two kinds of people..
#1-Those who care.
#2-Those who do not
Clearly you can see I am the #1-on the right of my #2 husband.
I never could decide which is true: ‘Birds of a feather flock together’ or ‘opposites attract.’ This baffles me.
These are scenes from an actual event this last summer:
I answered the phone to hear my sister-in-law announce:
“We are coming your way and would love to see you!”
“Well of course!” Can’t wait!” Click!
I galloped through the house, as if receiving a storm warning to evacuate at once!
“O-M-G! Just LOOK at this house, would you! It looks like a zoo!”
My husband, an obvious #2- peered over the newspaper.
“How can it look like a zoo when we have two little parakeets? Besides, are they coming to see us or the house?”
“Oh, I get where you’re coming from! You don’t even care! And in case you may have forgotten, my brother was in the military!”
“Well, was he a general? And besides, didn’t you grow up with him, where he saw you without makeup, and your hair in rollers?”
“Yes, to all of the above, but what if they come here and have to use the bathroom?”
“And how would that be a problem?”
“Well you know, some people go to the bathroom and like to snoop around! I even snapped this picture after a guest used our bathroom.
"Oh! Now I get it! Like you did when you were a teenager and you rifled through people’s medicine cabinets to try to profile them!”
“Well, you know it’s true,” I argued. I have heard stories from people who installed hidden cameras which revealed sneaky people peeking behind the shower curtain!”
It was as plain as the nose on my face I was a #1, while my hubby tiptoes through the tulips without a care in the world; satisfied to be a #2. I ask: Can this marriage be saved?
Thank you for for stopping by today--Incidentally, my brother and wife really DID visit, however, I slightly exaggerated about my house looking like a zoo. lol--In truth, it is generally always neat and clean. Just thought a chuckle would be nice to start our week.
