At It Again

Monday, November 11, 2019

Well I’m at it again starting over and at the worst time right before the holidays. I need suggestions on how to break my habit of starting over ever week and be constant. Now that the weather is getting colder I can’t go walking like I want to but I am doing exercises at night to get back in shape.

SNUZYQ2 has got it right about tracking and water. Along with exercise, those are about the best holiday damage control I can think of. Hang in there; I'll be doing the same.

Good for you for the exercising! Try tracking your nutrition and water. Don't concern yourself right now with getting everything perfect. The purpose of your nutrition and water journal is for learning. You'll be learning about calories, fats, carbohydrate, fiber and protein. You'll be learning what and where you're overdoing it and where and what to cut back on. No foods are forbidden, but you'll find yourself choosing foods that give you the most nutritional bang for your buck. You can still celebrate the holidays and will enjoy tastes of everything you want, but the goal is to exercise moderation. I take holidays off from my tracking (that's one day off for Thanksgiving and one day off for Christmas and one day off for New Years). I usually take one day off from tracking once per week (Sundays). I don't use any of the days off to binge or overeat and I try to keep my protein and fiber at adequate levels every day. Each day is a new beginning on my weight loss journey. There's no slipping up with this routine...just learning experiences. So, the journey continues with every bump and turn. No hesitation, no "starting over" and no failure because my goal remains firm. i.e.., better health! You can do this!! emoticon
