Our Father in heaven does not play favorites.

Monday, November 11, 2019

Do you know the voice of the Bridegroom? (Matthew 25:1-13; Hebrews 1:1-4; Revelation 19:7).

Jesus said, “If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, How much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him” (Luke 11:11-13)

During the thirty-plus years since I was baptized with the Holy Spirit, I have heard people in the church speak of the baptism with the Holy Spirit as if God only gives this gift to a select few… Scripture tells us differently. In fact, Jesus is very clear that if you ask God the Father to give you the Holy Spirit, He will!

Jesus knows we need the Holy Spirit operating in our life to complete the work He left for His church to accomplish. How can the church hope to hear and understand what the Holy Spirit is saying to the churches in these last days? (Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22).

Our Father in heaven does not play favorites. Believers must ask Him for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Dare to trust Jesus with your future...He is the author and finisher of our faith.

The importance of a Spirit-led life is what God planned! We were dead in sin but now regenerated by God's Holy Spirit. "God our Savior...saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost" (Titus 3:5). Don't fall into the trap of "having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof" (2 Timothy 3:5). "Regeneration is powerful." (given by the Holy Spirit)
