My lunch today: Veterans Day and other.

Monday, November 11, 2019

Well, its Veteran's Day and I want to say thank you to all the veterans out there and a prayer to all those that have served.

My lunch today wasn't anything in particular. I used some leftovers I had because I am going to the store tomorrow to gather some healthy goodies. Today, I just relaxed and "chilled" in my pajamas because today is also my birthday. My daughter and I made rice krispies treats as cake isn't necessarily a chosen desert for us. Surprisingly, the recipe I found on SP was only 47 calories a serving which makes it "a win" in my department.

We went to Sweet Tomatoes yesterday for a birthday dinner and that made me very happy. Kept calories below 600.

So, back to my lunch today...Lightly breaded chicken breast nuggets, corn, green beans and a small serving of potatoes and extra light syrup fruit cocktail. The green beans and potatoes were cooked together in a small amount of low sodium soy sauce for added flavor. A majority of the meal were leftovers. Yay, I finally used them up. At half cup increments, the meals and items last forever. Eating less does save cost in the grocery bill and it is good for weight loss as well.

I have lost 17 pounds total and without a lot of exercise. I do need to amp up the exercise habit but I exercise when I can. Time to pencil in some appointments on the calendar for exercise!! Sadly, since bone spurs have made their appearance I haven't been able to walk as much. My chosen exercise was walking and I made it a habit before. At one point, I walked 45 miles in one month to celebrate my 45th birthday some years back. I gained the weight back over time but I'm not giving up and am back to it. Now, I need to look to other alternatives( ie-cross-training).

The cup in the picture was a gift from my daughter, today. I needed a new coffee container!! I love it!! Ironically, my son also bought me a silly mug which still makes me hysterical every time I read it!!

Well, I wanted to get some advice and some suggestions for healthy grocery products to buy or things that you may put on your grocery list for healthy weight loss and nutrition. I am interested what all of you do to do so. Thank you for reading my blog and hopefully all of you had a great day!! Many blessings and prayers for everyone. Until my next blog, peace to all of you.

emoticon I don't have it listed on our team summary. Which day was it exactly, please let me know. Rebecca posted that she saw this and I had seen it was coming based on another post but didn't realize it was so soon. I'm glad you were treated out to Sweet Tomatoes and you look great!! Keep up the good work.

    Belated birthday wishes, Melissa.

Strength training is an excellent choice, as well as,
other forms of cardio. I count any intentional fitness
of 20 minutes as equalling 1 mile & use that towards
    any virtual trail I've undertaken.

Nice blog! Congratulations on your weight loss. I have been sure to keep lots of fresh vegees and fruits on hand. Starting with sliced cucumbers with a bit of salt is really filling at meal time.
