A Positive Difference in My Life

Today's gratitude blog is also going to answer one of the assignment options for my Aspire and Inspire team for this week's challenge, answering the question: Who made a positive difference in your life recently?
That is an easy one for me. The person who has made a recent positive difference in my life is my newest close friend, Mary. I've only known her a year or so, and she and I became close this summer, when we started doing watercolor painting together. First we put together a fun painting activity for the neighborhood ladies in June, then we started meeting at my house to paint from YouTube videos, and now this week we started taking a painting class on Monday mornings. She also got me involved with the Operation Shoebox volunteering that I talked about in my blog yesterday.
Besides helping me get involved in more things, she is an inspiration to me because of her bubbly personality and positive outlook, despite major challenges in her life. Her husband is not doing well, having had two strokes in the past and now dealing with melanoma which has metastasized to his liver and pancreas. I know she has down times, but she remains upbeat and smiling and is very giving to others. She also has a strong faith. She and I have had lots of heart to heart talks, but also just have plain old fun!
Here she is in her homemade cupcake costume for Halloween!
I am very grateful to have her in my life!
