Day 316: Getting Things Done

"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead." (Louisa May Alcott)
Hello, my lovely friends!
We’ve been working on the Halloween decorations and we’re almost done. We’ll finish up tomorrow and get everything in the basement. I’m going to ask my cousins if they could come over and help bring up the Christmas boxes. My Mom said she’ll make lunch for everyone as a thank you.
Speaking of the holidays, it looks like Thanksgiving is off. My aunt has been sick and her doctor is upset that’s she’s not resting. They want her to take it easy and the stress of Thanksgiving is getting to her. That’s okay for us though, but we’re still going to make the full dinner for the two of us. I’m going to call one of my girlfriends that is in the same situation with her Mom being widowed. Maybe we could invite my Uncle Sonny and Auntie Helen. Either way, we’re not going to let that get us down.
We did go to my uncle’s retirement party and I was glad I did. We got there a little early and helped out my cousin, Molly setting everything up. They were playing music and an Elvis song came on, “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” and my Mom started crying and they turned it off. My uncle was surprised when he got there and everyone from the family showed up except for two cousins, it was nice to see everyone. We has a really good time, my Mom was quiet here and there.
I’ve talked my Mom into going to the Christmas festival that we use to go to on Friday. We kept seeing the commercial for it and she had this look and I asked if she wanted to go and she said yes. It’ll be fun to go.
