Wednesday, November 13, 2019

Today my dr. told me i have IBS and to do the fatmap diet. Its basically lactose free and high fibre, gluten free. With my diabetes , i feel overwhelmed. I am 63 yrs young and need to lose 50 lbs. Seems all my life i have been on some type of diet, feeling a bit sorry for myself tonight.

I have IBS also! Your doctor gave you helpful info. Mine just said 'live with it!' That's why I joined SP. I am currently trying to figure out do I go that route or Keto or what! My blogs basically I am focusing in on doing something new once a day for a year. I believe my IBS is emotional also so stepping out and doing something new that is fun and silly I am hoping will help me emotionally to help my IBS !
    Good Luck!

Dont be discouraged. I have the start of diabetes too and this app has helped me so much. I like how they give points out for self care activities like drinking water and reading articles. Plus the nutrition tracker is awesome

Sorry for the bad news you received & you feeling low. But, you’ve made a great first step in joining Sparks. I tried several apps & on my own. Was pretty dismal. Sparks offers SO MANY things to help! Have fun checking things out. You can do this!

Welcome to SparkPeople! There is a lot of information on this site. I've been here a little over 3 mths. and have learned a lot and am still learning. Just take on step at a time, feel your way around the site. I do suggest using the nutritional app. to track your food, it helps keep you accountable on your input of calories, carbs, fats etc. I too have diabetes, fatty liver among other conditions....I know what you mean about feeling sorry for ourselves, but we got to work the best we can to get back to a healthy us. One step at a time will eventually get you to where you want to be. Never give up .... emoticon
