"Tell a friend about something helpful you learned recently"

I can't really say I've done this today.

But, it comes very naturally to me to pass on new information and to share ideas (as most of you Spark friends know!)

Here's something that sort of counts:-

Today I took a friend to a cafe she'd not been to before, and we had a really lovely healthy lunch together. Then we went to the cinema. I'd booked the table at the cafe, and also bought the cinema tickets on-line. My friend won't buy anything on-line, so I am the one who buys the tickets. I don't mind. She's much better at sewing and cooking than me. We all have our strengths and weaknesses.

I had a lovely experience at the hair-dressers today. It was a new-to-me hairdresser - a very friendly, one-hairdresser little place in town. The lovely thing was that I went in to have about 6" cut off - to tidy it up. The hairdresser ran her hands through my hair and said I had amazing hair - she called her apprentice over to have a look. Apparently it has so many different colours in it (although, to me, it looks basically like a greying blond colour) - and they very rarely see it. In addition, they very rarely see such 'lovely hair' that has NOTHING on it (no colours, no perms etc). It made me feel so good. What a wonderful compliment - I'm so grateful to her. In the end she said she couldn't cut 6" off it - but she gave it a good trim, and it looked like about 6" to me. At the end I said "how much did you take off? 5 1/2 inches?!" and we all laughed.
