Keeping It Simple On My Own, a week or so later
Friday, November 15, 2019
My last blog was on Nov.1. It just so happened that my life had a tremendous upheaval when my brother passed on Nov. 2 while visiting my sister out of state. The days since then have consisted of trying to maintain some sense of normalcy at home while wading through what needed to be done as well as trying to deal with his very angry adult children, because of my brother's alcoholism, divorce between their parents, and lots of embarrassment for them in the past ten or fifteen years. I read a saying either here or on FB about "days when the wheels came off the bus". That's what happened over the past almost two weeks. I'm still trying to get someone to bring a wrecker or whatever is needed to get the bus upright and the wheels back on.
I have appreciated the support of my SP friends.
I add all that to tell you that my goal of being in the "closer to One-der-land" area is showing up on the scales. Most of the time my weight is showing up just under 210. I am pretty excited about that. 20_ really is an encouragement to me. I began to be able to wear another pair of jeans that I had. The pair that I had been wearing fit fine, but this other pair - supposedly the very same size - had been an effort to get on and wear, so I just hadn't. I am glad to have two pairs of jeans to wear when I choose/need to wear jeans, and I am looking forward to wearing some of clothes that I have kept in smaller sizes.
I'm still doing my apples and bananas and season veggies and that is working pretty well for me. I NEED to get started on fitness again, but I was trying to find a pair of walking shoes that were cheaper than the New Balance 900 series that has had problems besides being pricy. I found a pair of Alegrias and am happy to say that I am pretty happy with them so far. The $60 that I paid for them on sale was a lot better than the discounts that I was finding on the New Balance. So now I need to find where in my life that I can get that fitness in, even if it is just 5 minutes at a time.
