November 16, 2019 NEVER GIVE UP

So many times when we have a dream or vision for the future, we get frustrated and give up. Life happens. We get side-tracked. We may not go for our dreams or visions for the future because of the uncertainty of what could happen. We get comfortable in our world and don’t want to change. However, pursuing our dreams means change. Doing the will of God requires stepping away from the routine of our daily lives and seeking to help those in need, to add value, and to serve. We should never give up on doing the will of God because it is inconvenient. Our dreams and vision for our lives should be to get uncomfortable doing God’s will and never give up. If we ask Him, God will help us to do His will.

SCRIPTURE:
Philippians 2:13 “God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what you have stopped doing for God.
2. List the things you need to do that are according to His will.
3. Make sure your dreams and visions are in line with what God wants you to do.
4. Pray asking God to give you the strength and desire to continue to live only for Him.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we pray You will help us to never give up. You give us dreams and goals to live in obedience to You. Help us to not get side-tracked or lazy. We know this world can easily discourage us from doing Your will. Give us the desire and power we need to do what pleases You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
Despite what others may say or do to us because we are believers, we should never give up.

2 Corinthians 4:11, 16 “Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies…That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.” (NLT)

We are to stop doing what is comfortable and convenient and start doing the will of God.

Romans 12:11 “Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.” (NLT)

God can help us to get a new grip so we can continue to do His will.

FOCUS:
Hebrews 12:12 “So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.” (NLT)
