I need to learn to do the DAK

This morning i awoke to screaming pain in my hip. Funny when I went to bed it was fine. I share a Queen bed with the hubby and my fat cat smoky. By sharing I mean I get a tiny corner and they get three quarters of the bed.

I do remember an after midnight stroll to use the facilities and I had no pain then .My hubby has been working overtime all week and I never felt a twinge.

I think Rob and Laura Petree from the Dick Van Dyke show had it right Separate beds are the way to go ,

All kidding aside I was able to walk most of the pain away first at the grocery store then on a frigid 40 minute walk.

Tonight as I was watching my favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys, they showed Dak Prescott's warm up routine, If I was good at copying and pasting and sharing which I am not I would show you. You could goggle it , It's a great dance routine he does with his hips, He even has a few team mates doing it.
I think you could break a hip if not careful lol . I could definitely use this routine to loosen up.

    Your bed-sharing sounds like mine. Sometimes there is also a small dog but when the dog comes up, usually the cat leaves. I, too, have considered moving to our daughter's empty bed.

    Getting old sucks doesn't it Joanne. Glad you were able to walk it off.
    We have a Queen bed too, and Pete always recons I hog the duvet half way through the night and he has to fight to get some cover for himself LOL

    I also woke up to awful hip pain too; it is a fairly common occurrence any more. My hubby sleep separately like Rob and Laura--(loved them) ... I went for years w/ sleep deprivation (really) from his god-awful snoring! Seriously, I was deprived for years, plus he said I 'hogged' the covers. (Not true). lol
    Long story short---he does not like sleeping in beds---says he feels claustrophobic in a closed in bedroom. SO I sleep better and so does he. Separately. No animals either. lol ... Hope the pain goes away or improves.

    Whether it's a nagging constant low-grade pain or a full fledge screaming pain, both are debilitating in how they affect your ability and desire to perform everyday tasks. You are a trooper for handling grocery shopping and a long walk.
    My wish for you is that tomorrow you will awaken feeling refreshed and pain-free or at least a lot less pain.

    I am so glad you were able to walk the pain away. It is so terrible to have pain anywhere, but hip and low back are the core of our body!
    Take care! I agree on the separate beds or a king size for us because I need lots of room when I sleep!!

    Let me know how your hip is as time goes on. That's how mine started two years ago; pressure stress point from the mattress. Inflamed bursa - bursitis. I hope the pain doesn't come back or last.
