Lessons from the doggos... walk away

Monday, November 18, 2019

Sweet Pea and the Cooper-dog are both quite good at walking away when something or someone does not serve their best interests. I like that meme that say "P** on it or walk away"... That is so definitely a doggo thing to do. If you can't eat it or play with it... just walk away. I am not advocating walking away from every uncomfortable or difficult task or person, lol. Sometimes those have the most to teach us, and often serve to focus our attention on a new perspective or thought (which is serving an important purpose in our lives after all). But all the extraneous stress that we pile on ourselves with the clutter, busywork, and toxic relationships to be found around us and in our lives, can wear us down, and make us bitter, cynical, or leave us feeling powerless. If we can "walk away" from those things then we leave more room for positive things and people in our lives, and we become a positive force ourselves. Sometimes in order to live our best lives we need to trim away the negative forces in our lives. It isn't necessarily easy, as we carry the baggage of expectations, obligations, and duties into most aspects of our lives. But if we can adopt a smidgeon of the doggos' attitude and walk away from the negative and dangerous (not just physically dangerous, but also mentally and emotionally), then we have a better chance of living our healthiest life possible.

Wherever you are in the world I hope you have a marvelous day!
