Follow the North Star

Tuesday, November 19, 2019

Good morning friends. So yesterday started with a great workout then I came home and baked some vegan pumpkin cookies for my party. I put in a few hours of work and on my lunch hour baked an apple/pear crumb cake, also for my party.

Breakfast was 2 egg whites, with peppers and onions (hence the joke, it started forming as I was cooking and spilled onto paper), lunch was 4 oz grilled chicken with artichokes, roasted peppers and kalamata olives..dinner, well dinner was a few carrots, cucumbers and a lot of celery with hummus, eggplant flavored and spicy chipotle flavored, it was followed up with a cider donut, 2 pear and cranberry brie cookies, 4, yes I think it was 4 pumpkin cookies and washed down with 2 hard ciders.. not gonna lie when I went to bed last night I had little bit of a belly ache and I thought for sure that my experiment would be blown out of the water, but this morning the scale was down from yesterday..

Less people than expected came so I have a lot of goodies left over, we didn't even touch the cake.. but I will give it away. I am honestly not even tempted by any of it.

I was star struck though last night, I definitely spent more money than I had planned.. but there were two gorgeous north start crystal ornaments that kept calling me and I was on the look out for a necklace with a blue hue to it..I was going to get the necklace and one ornament, but I do not buy much for myself and really this is for our Christmas for years to come and my tree is made up of white lights, red and gold colored balls and all glass ornaments with the exception being some beautiful cross ornaments. And let's not forget 25% of all sales were being donated back to my youth group, and did I tell you the North Star.. how could I NOT follow it?

I took the day off work today and am heading to Pennsylvania to spend some time with my niece. I am so beyond proud of her, she has turned her life completely around after a rough patch and is thriving. Heading to a sushi/hibachi place so that's easy... I have absolutely no desire to eat breakfast.. I'm still feeling full from my excursion on the sugar highway, so unless something changes in the next 2 hours and I grab a little yogurt, lunch will be my first meal.

I will definitely be going to the 545pm #cko class tonight.. it's been way too long since I took Alejandro's class and there will be no long running work conference calls or work events to interfere and will help to burn any sugar that perhaps is slowly turning to fat.

Tomorrow night I will officially step on the WW scale to see have a number to include with my analysis of the data I've been collecting this week. Have I told you how much I HATE tracking.. ugh..

Anyway, today is going to be fantastic, after lunch we my head over to the big candle shop in Bartonsville and then stop by to surprise my other niece at the bakery where she works.

Have a fabulous day! Follow that star, treat yourself to something special (doesn't have to be monetary), make memories!

Here is a picture of the cookies (and other foods) for my friend Audra who asked and the bling, can't forget about the bling!
