Hope all are having a good day today. Just to clarify yesterday's blog, I did not give the handyman another chance. When I tried to confirm the project two weeks ago, I also needed his input on how much paint to buy. Also, I rescheduled my day accordingly. Never hearing back, contacting me the night before is NOT how to show trustworthiness. So, no, I did not go through with the project.

Thanks for all of the Santa ideas. The reason I decorated so early is that I take decorations down early. Usually on New Years weekend, a week after xmas. I'll put them away the same leisurely way I decorated, just a day at a time.

Supposed to get much-needed rain today and I really hope so. CA needs rain so send some of yours our way, okay?

(p.s. I'm doing well on my direction correction of no sugar. No added sugar; I'm not worried about what is contained in various food items that I eat little to none of.)

    It is so frustrating when repair people or contractors don’t return calls, or don’t show up on time. I think you were smart not to go ahead with the project.

    It is great that you have your decorations up early. I will do mine after Thanksgiving.

    Yay! We got rain also. Not a huge amount, but every little bit helps. I don’t think the ski resorts will be able to open for Thanksgiving. Not enough snow. They may get 3 inches out of this storm, but they need at least 18 inches to open.

    dont know whats worse handymen who dont call or email, or drs that tell you to come in for a stress test and you rearrange your day and then are told you need a preapproval visit wait you didnt bring your money we will have to reschedule . then decide to do it and 45 minute wait and 3 minutes with dr and stress test the next day . so let's rearrange our lives again, because the nurse told us none of this when we called for appointment. would have walked out but he needs stress test before surgery , emoticon sorry to vent on your blog but people are not reliable at all!!! anyway put up christmas early and take down when i darn well feel like it, it depends on how many times the cat climbs the tree lol,

    I too take Christmas decorations down on New Year's Day . . . but typically only get them up about a week ahead of time!!

    In spite of three weeks of heavy overcast here, we have had very little precipitation. So still having our drought. I could use your sunshine and warmth to be sure as they are predicting that polar vortex for us again this winter.
    Good on you telling that handyman the what for. That is no way to conduct business.

    He lost out! I don’t keep decorations out past either. Christmas is over the decorations come down. After Christmas I do snowflakes and snowmen. Gotta keep changing it up! Our house is known as the house with the decorations so have a reputation to keep

    We had a similar experience getting new roof estimates from two diff companies...one emailed promptly to our request for an estimate that they would call soon.
    The other guy called the next day and scheduled a speedy visit and spent an hour with us explain8ng choices.

    Company one never called back...the guy just showed up at our door a week later with no appointment!
    Then, we had to email them to ask for the promised estimate and they sent just the warranty without the estimate!
    So...even though the estimate was very close we chose the guys that actually showed up, of course!
