My son and daughter in law have two dogs, my grand dogs. The brownish one is Lucy and the white one is Fletcher. THey live around the corner from us.
WHen they got Lucy several years ago, they asked me to let her out and walk her every week day at lunchtime while they work. We live next to the canal path and it was a lovely walk with her every day.
THen last year they added Fletcher to the family. What an adorable bundle of joy he is.
Can you spot him in the this photo ?
He has grown into a very large but happy and full of energy dog.
HAving two dogs, I can no longer walk them. But I still go every day at lunchtime and let them out. I stay and play with them for about half an hour. It gets me outdoors and some exercise as well as makes them happy. and easier for them to get through the long day, while their mommy and daddy are at work.
This has been gong on for at least 7 years. Every day. At lunchtime. I do not mind. I love my grand dogs. We have fun in every kind of weather.
But it limits my ability to go out to lunch with a friend, or participate in some activities. I schedule all of my appointments based on my dog time. It is a big commitment.
That is the kind of commitment I have to have for this weight loss journey. I have to make sacrifices. I have to stay focused. I have to plan around it. I have to get my mind centered on what I need to do. I have to realize it is long term. If I do not, my health may suffer as a result.
Just like with the dog duty, I may not feel like it every day, but I must do it anyway. The weather may be stormy or snowy, I have to do it anyway.
SO if you want to know who let the dogs out, it is me!
Oh and if you had trouble finding Fletcher in that photo above, here he is peeking out the other side. ONly his little tail is showing above.
Have a beautiful day.
