November 21, 2019 CLEANING IS REQUIRED

Most of us don’t like to clean. We don’t like to maintain the things we have and take care of them until something breaks down. Sometimes we fail to maintain our bodies and our minds. There are things we need in life to keep going. The basics are food, water and shelter. However, to really reach the possibilities in life that God created us to do, we need more. We need God to cleanse us. We need God to guide us. Without confessing our sins, we will continue to carry many burdens and sins that will keep us from fully doing the will of God.

SCRIPTURE:
James 5:16 “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what you need to confess.
2. List the things you should clean from your life.
3. Know God wants to hear your confessions.
4. Remember only God can completely cleanse you and renew you.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we want to confess our sin to You today. We know we have been doing wrong. We know we have attempted to do many things on our own without You. We know we have had wrong thoughts, words and actions. Help us to seek You and confess our sins. Thank You for listening, for caring and for forgiving us. In Your name we pray. Amen.

REMEMBER:
Without God’s guiding light for our path, we will continue to walk around aimlessly in life doing nothing in particular rather than the great plans God has in store for us.

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” (NLT)

Refusing to confess sin will hold us back from doing the will of God.

Psalm 32:3 “When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.” (NLT)

God wants us to confess our sin and know He will forgive and cleanse us.

FOCUS:
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (KJV)
