Yesterday I met with a hospice nurse. It's hard to face the fact that my mother is preparing to die. Even though she loves her children, she's ready to move on. Her work on Earth is coming to a close, and now I need to hold her hand as she experiences her "change of life".
I want my mom to feel good about her life and feel the love of her family and friends as she moves into the unknown. I want her to be at peace at this time. I want her to know that I'm here for her and it's okay.
From the moment that I signed the papers for the Hospice Program, I felt at peace. I can do this for Mom because people who have been through this process are present to help me be present. I still feel weak and helpless, but someone is holding my hand while I hold my mother's hand.
Thank you, Trinity Hospice!
