November 26, 2019 WHAT’S OUR DESTINY?
There are two types of destiny in life. One is where we will all end up one day and nothing can change that. The other is controlled by us. Winston Churchill says destiny is not a matter of chance but of choice. It is something to be achieved. Yes, we will all die one day but what we do with our lives right now is what can make an impact on others and how we will be remembered. God says whatever we do, do well, because when we are at the end of our lives it is too late.
Ecclesiastes 9:2, 10 “The same destiny ultimately awaits everyone, whether righteous or wicked, good or bad, ceremonially clean or unclean, religious or irreligious. Good people receive the same treatment as sinners, and people who make promises to God are treated like people who don’t. Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom.” (NLT)
1. Write what your destiny is in life.
2. List the things you have done to control your destiny.
3. Know God has a perfect plan for your life.
4. Seek God’s will and follow through in obedience to Him.
Dear Lord, we know we are all going to die one day. We know our lives are just a brief moment of time here on earth. Help us to make the most of each day You have blessed us with. We want to do Your will and allow Your plans for us to be our destiny. Whether we make a positive impact on one or many, we want to completely do Your will. Help us, we pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
When we begin making plans for our lives, we need to go to God and seek His way for He tells us His plans are good.
Jeremiah 29:11 “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” (NLT)
God has the best destiny in mind for all of us. We should seek His way and live to do His will.
Job 23:14 “So he will do to me whatever he has planned. He controls my destiny.” (NLT)
God wants to lead us all to a glorious destiny. But the choice is ours.
Psalm 73:24 “You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.” (NLT)
