Post Surgery

Saturday, November 30, 2019

The day before Thanksgiving, my work let me go home early. :) That evening, my best friend Denise and I watched "Home Alone 1", and "Home Alone 2" (some of my favorite Christmas movies) while eating takeout for dinner.

On Thanksgiving, my family went to Hometown Buffet for lunch. After that, I went to a few stores that opened early for Black Friday, and enjoyed shopping for some Christmas gifts.

Yesterday (Black Friday), I finally got my double eyelid surgery!! I look beat up right now, but I am taking all of next week off from work to recover. I'm worried that my eye won't be healed enough to go back in 2 weeks, though, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. My eye is really swollen, and red, but I think it looks a little better than it looked yesterday.

Today is pay day, and my raise was finally reflective in my paycheck!!! :D It's about as much as I thought it would be, but starting next year, I will have less deductions, because I have gotten rid of my vision insurance, and downgraded my health insurance. Plus, us federal employees are expected to get a small raise next year, so I'm pumped! :D

That said, in my last blog, I was pretty negative. I still haven't figured out all the answers yet, but I don't think I should live my life in fear. When I first got sick, no one thought I could finish college, but I did--with a 3.5 GPA. And now I have a good job, so I am (so far) a success story. I told my parents last week that I might live with them forever, and now they're really excited, and I regret saying this. I haven't said anything else about that to them yet, but I'm not giving up my dream of finding love. Right now, I'm living day by day.

I am enjoying relaxing at home right now. :) I am loving my Apple Music!! It has improved my quality of life.
