Desert , Month 2
Wednesday, December 04, 2019
We still have more than one month left and it’s full of special days. Of course the holidays are ahead and the desert is preparing. Each neighbourhood decorates it’s main avenues and all the resorts are looking festive. Sadly, we are having full on rain today. All the golfers are here at breakfast hoping for a break in the gloom.
Our friends arrived from Alberta but my cold has kept us from seeing them. It is better but morphed to my stomach yesterday, so we are giving it another day to settle. So far so good but being a little cautious because we are not spring chickens.
Needless to say I am way behind on daily step counts and have only stretched. A walk would be perfect except that it’s pouring at the moment. Winter in the mountains all around us. The sun should appear later today and meanwhile I can catch up on ACE, Spark, and Bob and Brad ( the two most famous physiotherapists on the internet ,in their opinion of course ). They are a down to earth pair of experts I have learned a lot from. Especially helpful when my knee was at it’s most painful. Hokey but helpful.
Yesterday, while my stomach was in an angry uproar , I followed the BRAT diet but see no improvement in the stubborn belly fat. There is no weight gain - at least that. And I don’t feel sick. My opinion is that the virus is making it’s progress and will disappear soon. I did have my senior flu shot in October. Imagine if I had not !
So, optimistic about banishing the flu bug, or whatever that was, about catching up with my friends, about my son’s arrival on Sunday next, all the holidays and our 17th anniversary. It’s a busy December. Plus I need to resume my fitness routine, starting right now with a big stretch based on yoga and balance exercises.
May your house be safe from H1N1 and all his friends and relatives.
