December 5, 2019 A SPECIAL GIFT

It’s hard to find that special gift. That gift others will not put aside or return. While we are scrambling around and racking our brains to decide on a great gift to give to our friends and loved ones, we may be forgetting all the gifts God has for us. Of the many, many gifts God gives, one of them is peace. His peace is something the world cannot give to us. This world is full of conflict, turmoil, hate and everything evil. But when we accept God’s peace, we will have the peace that passes all understanding. So instead of stressing about the holidays, let’s focus on God and accept the gift of peace He has for us so we can be good stewards for God.

John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (NLT)

1. Write what you do to find peace.
2. List ways God gives you peace.
3. Remember to focus on God.
4. Know He gives the gift of peace that the world cannot give.

Dear Lord, we know we easily get pulled into this world. We know we get side-tracked and forget about You. Help us to draw close to You. Help us to be good stewards doing Your will. Help us to keep our focus on You and accept Your gift of peace. We know when we focus on Your presence, we will feel Your gift of peace. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Wouldn’t it be great to have peace from God in all we do?

2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.” (NLT)

Philippians 4:6-7 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (NLT)

Colossians 1:20b “He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.” (NLT)

Rather than focusing on conflict and the evil in this world, we can be good stewards for God by focusing on His presence so we can accept His peace.

Colossians 3:15 “And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.” (NLT)
