December 6th~ kick back day

Friday, December 06, 2019

One of my mini challenges has been to get at least 6 to 7 hours of sleep. My lil body and mind does not want to shut down till 11, 12, 1, 2...sigh! Then pups are up at 5:30..after in out and round about we often tend to nap for a half hour or so..but then pups nap all day! What does a dog do on it's day off? It can't sleep ..that's it's job!!

Today at 5ish they started the "get Mum up" chorus and I just was not ready. I growled some threat at them..like you'll go out and stay out! Miraculously they all went back to sleep, till 7AM!
I was in shock , but the thing is..I could not get me in gear all day long!! ??? weird..get enough sleep and feel like sleeping more..perhaps in a previous life I was a sloth!!

The girls are working again..out of 7 young hens I am getting 5 eggs, not a bad average for barn yard birds , ie: not bred just to produce as are commercial birds. I have 4 Older hens that I am sure contribute from time to time, but they have earned their right to continue on in their senior years. Since the eggs are just for my consumption and family, I am not worried about the hen to product ratio as I would be if marketing . I read the article on Egglands eggs, interested in how they managed to improve the nutritional value of eggs, thru organic natural means. Usually when "nature" is improved in it is thru chemical or genetic alterations. Egglands site states cage free, although that can mean a 1000 hens in a crowded on floor environment. But their claim of organic feeds causing increased food value does interest me.
Well enough of nattering on about such items..anyone know more..let me know!
Since I was such a slug today ..maybe tomorrow I will be there kicking it out! That indeed is up to me!
Wishing ya'al a fun weekend!!
