Llama Llama Holiday Drama

We've had more than our share of drama at school, but unfortunately, it continues. Today, 2 of our little girl's aunt came and got them off the school bus at the end of the day. She waved us over being careful to stay where she would not be filmed by security cameras. She wanted to let us know that she had already involved the law, and that she was in fear for her nieces lives. She wasn't sure if her sister was out of her mind on meth or schizophrenic. Evidently Schizophrenia runs in their family and emerges about the age she now is. She is trying to get emergency custody. What a nightmare. At least these girls have caring family members to take them in and help them. But what a horrid thing for them to have happening at Christmas time. I came from a dysfunctional family, but at least there wasn't drugs or alcohol involved, nor severe mental illness. I used to think my childhood was bad, but all the verbal abuse I dealt with was a piece of cake in comparison to what my poor students are going through. I'm so looking forward to this weekend and a couple of drama free days.
