Yesterday, I saw my plastic surgeon. I had a ton of questions, and he was very patient, and kind. :) He said that I am actually healing more quickly than normal!!! He said that my incision is healing nicely, so he removed all my stitches, and I feel so much better now that they're gone!!! I voiced my concern over how the swelling isn't going down, but he reassured me that it WILL go down, and when it does, I will be able to open my eye completely again. :D He said that I'm not able to do so now, because the swelling is making my eyelid heavy. He said that although the crease looks too high now, once the swelling goes down, the crease will be symmetrical to my left eye, so that's a relief too. I am able to wear makeup now, and only need to apply an ointment on the wound at night now (not 3 times a day like when I still had my stitches). Also, he said that I don't have to ice my eye anymore, which is nice. The stitch removal was actually more painful than I thought it would be, and it was a little embarrassing, because when he removed the stitches on the outside corner, a tear fell out of my eye, because it was so painful. :P He was nice about it, though! My doctor said that he doesn't see any red flags with my eye, and told me not to worry so much. :) Thankful!
Today, I finally get my permanent (dental) crown cemented in!!! I am SO tired of chewing on only my left side, and flossing is a pain! I just hope the new crown looks good (blends in with my other teeth). My dentist is a very nice (and good looking!) man. He reminds me of an older Henry Golding. :P
After my dental appointment, I'm going to get a cake for my mom's birthday dinner tonight. Then I'm going to meet my best friend Denise for lunch, and then go Christmas shopping (possibly with her). Then I'm going to pick up my parents, and we're going to go to the dinner party.
My doctor did say that I can go back to work next week, but I'm going to ask my friend how bad my eye looks, and get her input before I make my final decision. Physically, I feel fine, but I'm self-conscious about the swelling.
God is good!
