The Other Side of My Hobby - Clothing Sewing
Monday, December 09, 2019
So, I have this HUGE collection of patterns from when my girls were little and a HUGE stash of random fabrics from projects of yesteryears. So for our granddaughter's birthday tomorrow, and her party that was supposed to be today, Grandma here spent the last part of last week putting this jumper together. I did have to buy the white top to go under it, but the jumper itself was completely from stash fabric. I even made the bias tape for around the neckline and arm holes from leftover fabric! I'm pretty pumped about that, actually. I had purchased the little bias tape making tools in different widths a while back but never used them. I had my doubts, but it worked really good.
The picture is kind of small, so I don't know if you can see them or not, but the fabric has little gingerbread men, candy canes, and Christmas trees and the jumper itself has 2 front pockets and 4 little blue buttons running down the front of the skirt. I can't wait for her to try it on to see if it actually fits! Her party was supposed to be today, but 4 of the 5 members of their family, including the birthday girl, are down with a chest cold. So party is postponed. Oh, the suspense! LOL
Anyway, now that the birthday present is off my plate, moving on the the Christmas present next week! I
my sewing machine! (Although, it does distract me from working out some times.... oooops.)
