Today we had two shows of Christmas music at the college with a childrens choir. The turnout was pleasing. The show had two acts with the first being secular and the second, after a 10 minute intermission to change the sets, being based on the Christian reason for Christmas. There were solo's and ensemble presentations. Two hours of music. And the first time in my memory we didn't have some form of dance involved in the secular session. Another break from tradition was my singing a solo. My voice blends well but I don't think it is as smooth as a solo voice needs to be. It was a Christmas song I had never heard, a Gaither song, which people called the "Barn" song when talking with the director. Now we look forward to two church contatas next Sunday. Then a weekend with two grandchildren going to see our third annual showing of "The Christmas Carol" at The Lysieum" in Arrow Rock MO.
