I love the joy and magic of the season, but this year is different. This is a Christmas of holding Mom's hand in the nursing home, It will be a much quieter season with most of the grandkids far away. It will be a blue Christmas, and I'm fighting depression and feeling lonely. It's not the most wonderful time of the year this year.
I will fill it with friends, good food and music, but it's different. I'm sticking with my goals, and I hope that you will join me in them. Check the link at the bottom of the blog.
I have to understand that my blue Christmas is important. IT represents caring for my mom in hospice. Happiness is not the goal of my life. Caring for my family is far more important. There is great value in helping my mother through this tough time in her life. One day I'll be very glad for this blue Christmas. Maybe Mom won't get to see Santa, but she will have me.
I'll have a blue Christmas
I'll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red
On a green Christmas tree
Won't be the same dear
If you're not here with me
When those blue oh-snowflakes, are falling
That's when those blue memories, start calling (hey)
You'll be doin' alright, with your Christmas in white
And I'll have a blue blue blue Christmas
(Oh let's go, let's go)
And when those blue oh-snowflakes, start falling
Well that's when those blue oh-memories, start calling
You'll be doin' alright, with your Christmas all white
And I'll I'll have a blue blue blue Christmas
Yes I'll, I'll have a blue oh Christmas
