Hello, Everyone and Blessing to you on this Sunday.
What I said yesterday about today being a rest day was pretty much correct. We haven't been able to get out of our driveway at all today with all the snow we're getting. I'm not sure when it started exactly. By 9:00 AM there were a good 2 inches on the ground already and it was still snowing heavily.
Starting back just a bit, my pup had an accident on our bed in the middle of the night. Both my hubby and I were up at 3:15 AM to strip the bed, get her outside....and yes, now that I think of it, it was already snowing at that time. Then he gets the crazy idea of going to the grocery store to stock up on the groceries we're going to need if we're stuck in the house for a couple of days. We hadn't gone yesterday because everyone and their mother would be out there doing just that early before the storm starts. The stores tend to run out of basics when this happens.
I, for myself, thought he was nuts going to the stores at 3:30 AM!! For one thing, I can feel a cold come on and had spent half of what I did spend in bed coughing, not sleeping. I went back to bed with just a blanket. He went to the store himself. Probably didn't buy everything we needed, but it'll be enough for now.
The snow has stopped, for the most part, right now. Without looking at the reports, I'd say we've received a good 4 to 5 inches. Possibly more. It's supposed to start snowing heavily again tonight. Then on and off all day tomorrow. The weather service did say to expect "Severe Winter Weather Alert" through Monday until 9:00 PM unless they've changed it since I last saw the report. Right now, it's hard to say if many people will be going to work tomorrow. I guess we'll find out in the morning. There had been a report on the possibility of getting ice as well. I'm hoping that part passes us by.
My puppy doesn't know about the snow. She's gotta go outside, of course, but once she's off the porch, she's buried. It's pretty funny to watch, actually. At the same time, she's not a fan of the snow either. Or the cold for that matter. It's getting pretty bad when we take her out, she doesn't want to stay out very long so she doesn't do her business. When we bring her back in after trying to get her to do her business, she does it on her pads in the house instead, almost as soon as we get in the door. Usually when we're busy with something else and aren't paying attention to her.
Otherwise she's house trained. Now to get her used to the snow. So much fun having a puppy.
On the plus side, she's the one that gets me doing most of my moving when I'm stuck in the house. Chasing her around, throwing her toys when she wants to play fetch. Picking up anything and everything that she could chew on. (She's taken to chewing electrical cords and phone chargers when she finds them lying about.) It may be just me and my hubby living here. I can tell you who it is that throws things on the floor or places where they are easily accessible to her.
Oh, the frustrations of being stuck in the house. We'll see what tomorrow will bring.
Have a good night/day, wherever you are located. Be safe whatever weather you're having.
