Get Excited!
Sunday, December 15, 2019
I had an NSV earlier this week. My coworker brought Panera bagels for everyone. I dutifully spread the word on my floor, but I didn't go to the kitchen to partake. I love Asiago bagels. Panera has them. They might have been in the kitchen, but I didn't go see at all.
Why not?
I was super-excited about the breakfast I had packed. I thought to myself, "Well, I suppose I can save my breakfast for lunch," but I was even more excited about my lunch than my breakfast, so I didn't want to do that, either. So I stayed at my desk and ate my planned food.
Being excited about your food is really important for weight loss. If you want what you are eating, then you won't be tempted by other things. That's why it's important to have a diet that you can live with.
Of course, hunger is the best seasoning, so it's even better if you wait to get good and hungry before you eat what you've planned, but you won't feel the same anticipation if you're eating something that you're kind of whatever about.
So get excited about your food!
I am going to look for more excitement in my diet. We bought raspberries for the baby last week, but they were a fail, so I wound up eating them, and they are DELICIOUS, so I bought some just for me this week, and I am excited! Brie excites me. Fancy salads excite me. I'm sure I can think of other foods that are exciting, but I can't think of any right now. At least, not healthy foods. Fritos excite me, too, but I think those should probably stay off the list for now.
Please share any exciting recipes you have! I need more excitement in my diet, and I'll share with you my exciting breakfast and lunch:
Breakfast: Avocado sandwich with ham and cheddar
Lunch: Flatbread soaked in Sudanese-style lentils
Happy holidays, all! Get Excited!
