Take a Wellness Break? - Not so fast...

It seems so tempting... Ditch all of the hard work, the habits of wellness - drinking water (not empty calories), choosing to move rather than extra screen time - filling the plate with more than half of veggies - choosing veggie beds instead of simple carbs.... just for two weeks of “feast holidays”.

The challenge is re-establishing the “streak consciousness” that allows you to persevere when everything else in the environment of screens, commerce, and “the need to please” tells you that your choices aren’t bringing you love, comfort, or “the good old days”.
So, I’ll use the food pre-planning that went into the shopping, long before the bustle of the holiday season. I’ll do a scan of what’s pre-cooked from the freezer. I may not track as rigorously as some of my online friends - but I will continue to check-in with my favorite systems of movement challenges, meetings (workshops), and, yes - the SparkPeople community. Looking after one’s self is a continuous challenge, one to be embraced, in all seasons.
Two weeks of challenge around two weeks of “feasting” - embrace the challenge by embracing your best you. emoticon
