Falling Needles
This lighthearted holiday celebrates the final moments of the life of a holiday tree. Created by Thomas and Ruth Roy of Wellcat Holidays, the official description of the holiday states: "Now that the Yuletide tree’s been up for weeks and hasn’t been watered since a couple of days before Christmas, gather the gang around and watch the needles gently fall one by one. Live it up! Dance barefoot." It is a day to gather together with your family and watch the needles fall, but it also can be a day to take down and recycle your tree.

Celebrate the day by taking off your shoes and dancing barefoot around your holiday tree, perhaps with your family. While doing so, keep a close eye on the tree and watch the needles fall. You could then use the day to take down your tree. There is more that can be done with it than just throwing it to your curb. You could put it in your yard to give birds a new home, or recycle it in many other ways.
