WOW- 2020. First I am grateful & thankful for so much I have in my life and what I am capable of doing. I have so far remained symptom free beyond my white blood cell counts increasing this year, which I am so grateful for. It has now been 1 year since I was diagnosis with CLL ( Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) and the crazy part is my primary family doctor telling me I am truly the "healthiest" family member for our household. That statement makes me laugh and really take a good look at my health habits compared to others in my household.
So 2020 goals:
Drink water- make it my major fluid and stick to 1-2 cups of coffee a day
Walk the dogs- it starts my mornings off on the right foot, exercise for us all, and fresh air

Yoga- I have realized I need to make doing yoga a priority to help with my aches and pains.
Cardio & Strength- by staying active I will help keep secondary health issues at bay to not complicate my life and treatment options when they become necessary
Start focusing on creating meals with more whole foods and keep the home stocked with fruits and veggies. Limit the sweets hanging about (Out of sight Out of Mind- moderation is key)
Sleep- make it a priority and if at times I feel fatigued it is OK to take a nap with the dogs- time to start listening to my body and take care of it.
Make my health screening and doctors appointments a priority and not at the bottom of the list as I balance everyone else's in the household. If I am the foundation for this place I need to be aware of my own health status and do something about it. It is OK to say I need help and expect to receive it. I do NOT have to be a team of one.

Find challenges for myself- be it finishing the NC lighthouse climbs this spring, start exploring the mountain region next in NC, find a new charity to sponsor and champion for, volunteer, there is so much out there the task is to start small and move forward with each step in a positive manner and attitude.
Make a difference to the world around me.

Today, I started with yoga workout, walking the dogs, doing a thorough home cleaning of all rooms, healthy home cooked New Year's meal, and made it a point to get outside and do a interval walking program workout. Now to take on getting that stability ball inflate so I can do some strength exercises after dinner. Seize the day and the opportunities that are out there.
