Trailbreakers 16:8 & 1500 or less is working for me

Thursday, January 02, 2020

So much to catch up on though have been hard to find time to do so. I have been successfully following both the 16:8 fasting- so the 8 hours for allowing food for me, that have been working, are from 9:20 am to 5:20 pm Very reasonable & it makes me marvel that changing one thing can help improve my focus, energy, mood and fit of my clothes. YES the clothes are fitting better again, can I say YEAH to that.

Then there is the staying under 1500 calories, that has been crazily easier since restricting the time of day I eat- and, because I don't want to fail at the fasting hours, I have started to notice when I'm getting hungry past 5:20 pm to just get busy and drink more water or something with zero calories.

So the first week with this was today actually, today is the 7th day and I have dropped 4 pounds. And more importantly is how my clothes are fitting better.

NOW about the Trail-breaker- So it came across my attention that there is a new 4 race trail running series....and I did like the 8k we did in 2018. SO Jim & I had already decided to train for a half marathon (apparently not just the health benefit, he wants a 13.1 sticker) So I jotted down the plan following the Jeff Galloway ideals - the orignal idea was to go to Jeff's race in Atlanta and meet Jeff, though we decided that was too far and logically very hard to find someone to take care of our horses for that time, and very expensive when we are working on paying down debt (new barn)--- so We still opted to go for the 13.1 training- & as fate would have it I found that after I had the projected training miles down, I found a race on the days that we needed to do our long runs....which is wonderful- because without an event, those first times doing a long run would be brutal- but at an event we will have water, aid stations and fruit along the way- so am happy about that.

So that is my quick catch up- I love having goals and a plan- so far it looks like 6 trail runs this year plus some traditional 5ks because there are a few favorites we want to run with our son (he is turning 12) before he gets too cool to hang out with his parents, so we will relish the time he actually wants to be with us.

Things for the endurance ride seem to be coming together, I hope it will be an experience that will be positive for all involved and maybe even set an example for some new ideas, I think it already has.

Money is always tight in January, maybe that should be one of my goals for 2021? to not come into the new year with a low bank account? We did start a new savings account that I heard advertised for our bank-- the bank, via my debit card, rounds up to the next dollar amount and transfers it over from my checking to this special savings account- which in 1 month has added up to a almost $40, and it gains 2% interest. So it is not much, though a positive step in a good direction. And it makes me focus more on how nice it is to see a savings account grow, though someone needs to tell my car to stop breaking down!

Peace love & joy to you all in 2020 AND HEALTH-----> let's make this the best year of our lives.
