Funky Meals

Instead of going to the grocery store, I have decided that It is WAY past time for me to clean out the bits and dabs in my freezer, so meals are bound to get a bit strange here for a little while...

I have ground turkey that has been browned and ready to go into spaghetti sauce,.... and I have LOTS of fruit (bananas, grapes, blackberries, strawberries, mango, and peaches) that I like to make sorbet with.... and there are ziplock bags with chopped onion and some with green and red peppers that I froze because I didn’t want them to spoil..

And it’s ridiculous for me to park all that stuff in the freezer for “Someday”, so I’m committing to using enough of it up in the near future, so that I can at least see what I have.... tonight I had some frozen taquitos (something I had leftover from a function where everyone ELSE was supposed to eat them up) along with one tiny (though delicious), tilapia filet along with a great glob of frozen banana ice cream (made from just frozen bananas and a cup of frozen grapes)... if you have never had frozen banana mock “ice cream”, I totally recommend it for upping your fruit consumption...

There are layers in my freezer that haven’t seen the light of day in ages, and I’m not really sure what else is down under there... it’s time to find out, and either eat up the stuff or dispose of it in a way that no one will die of food poisoning!

Anyhow, I suspect that I’m going to be making some mock pizzas from Flatout flatbread slathered with marinara sauce and some crumbled browned turkey from the freezer, and if the weather stays warm like it has been (high 70s) there will be quite a bit of yummy sorbet...

And I have plenty of fresh eggs to stir up some quick omelets with the bits and dabs... omelets can take up a lot of slack...

By next week I should have eaten down through a few layers and have a better idea of what needs to be done. I can do this!
