Jumpin’ Jehoshaphat!

Saturday, January 11, 2020

I don’t know when trampoline centers became a “thing”, but today marked the third birthday party that I’ve attended for one of my grandchildren hosted by one of those places.... the first one I went to was a few years ago, and I actually ran around and jumped with the kids... but today I just pretty much watched from the sidelines...

The parking lot had been huge, and full and it felt like I had had to park halfway across the county so the walk to and from the venue was a nice little workout in itself.... But the kids all seemed to have a great time, and the ones I saw afterward were particularly bushed, and ready for an early bedtime....

I was reminded once again of how the noise of a children’s party venue like the one I was in today can really drain ME of energy, and how refreshing it is to step outside and hear the relative silence of freeway traffic and birds and wind..

I am not proud to admit that I ate a small piece of birthday cake..... BUT, I’m glad to report that I did not eat it ALL.... I left a big chunk of icing on the paper plate when I pitched it in the garbage can.... I only wish that I had stopped before I had gotten that far...

We had storms roll through last night, which must have knocked off more “tree fall”, and I noticed that some of my neighbors included leaf -raking in their Saturday activities so I might actually get more leaves for my garden this week... mulch works magic in gardens...

Oh my. Don't think we have that around us, though several people do have trampolines on their personal property.

Oh, heck yes! It's fun to see the little ones enjoying themselves, but the high noise level wears me out. Good on you, leaving part of the cake. I hope the bit you are was scrumptious!

If there is a room with kids and adults in it the kids get more wound up as the adults get tired-energy is going from the adults to the kids!

I agree with the excitement of young ones being noisy and stressful. They have so much pent-up energy. I would have taken a piece of that BD cake too. Think you made good choice on the frosting. We had the storms, wind and lightening all night and then a light snow this morning. Love the little dusting of snow we see it so seldom. Going from 70+ temps to 30-32 degrees in 24 hrs. was invigorating. Don't you love our Texas weather?

Very strong winds here with gusts getting to 56 MPH. Some damage but not us of mom. No rain and we really need it. Glad there were no fires last night!!
I hear you with the energy of kids. I prefer to sit and watch and cheer them on.

I hear you about social gatherings being draining. Sometimes I just need space and quiet time. Stay safe in the storm!
