Cold Feet, But Not For Long
Sunday, January 12, 2020
Ever since our storm front barreled into south Texas on Friday night, it has been cold.... not CANADA cold, but south Texas cold... 30s at night and reaching up to the low 60s during the day.... and there has been enough of a wind to make wind breakers a smart move...
and my feet get cold, which makes me really glad that I have an electric blanket that I can pre-heat my bed with... which is especially helpful since I’ve been trying to use up frozen fruit from my freezer to make sorbet with... as good as the sorbet is, it makes me cold (in hindsight, I should have baked apples in the microwave, which is an easy low calorie way to get fiber AND stay warm)...... It wouldn’t have helped with cleaning out the freezer, but I wouldn’t have given myself frostbite... seriously, WHY does something cold in my mouth make my TOES cold?!?!
And I could have saved the frozen fruit concoctions for later this week, when the temperatures are predicted to soar to the high 70s for several days... there will be plenty of frozen bananas and grapes and mango and peach still to sorbet-ize my world (mostly bananas and grapes, though)
Slowly (but surely) I am gaining space in my freezer!!! It closes without groaning almost every time now! Onward and downward!
