Happy New Year everyone!
Had quiet holidays, and the celebrating was spread out, which allowed us to enjoy them even more. Hubby had to work both Christmas Day and New Years, but that's okay. I'm usually in bed between 10 and 11 anyway lol.
My femur is finally healing!! I see the orthopedist once a month, and they take xrays to gauge the degree of healing. So it is coming along. I still take 2000 units of calcium, 5000 units of Vitamin D, 2000 units of Vitamin C, and a regular aspirin daily. I go to physical therapy 2-3 times a week, and they really make me work, which is good. My right knee, the "good" knee is slated for replacement. Timing will be up to me. I plan on getting that series of 3 shots in the knee twice this year. It helps a lot. I use KT tape slightly below my kneecap, which helps a lot, and all of the exercises I do for my left leg, I'm also doing them for my right to make it as strong as I can.
Still losing weight, slowly now. My A1C last time was 5.5 and my fasting blood sugar was 96, so technically I'm no longer diabetic, but that's due to the medication I use. Saxenda. GREAT stuff!! I also still follow a diabetic diet plan, and am especially careful with carbs.
Cats are well. Tree is down and put away for this year. Craft show went nicely. Have new ideas for next year already lol. Hubby isn't doing too well. He'd been in considerably hip pain for the past 2 months, so when I went to see the ortho, he made a piggyback appt. right after mine. Of course they took xrays, and the poor guy is eventually going to have to have both of his hips replaced. Of course the dr said it would help him if he could lose some weight, and then he said the worst possible thing you can say to any man: Just look at what your wife has achieved!! Oy....
So....I'm going to make a reference book for him, with www.sparkpeople.com right at the top.
I'll give him ideas, but I can't force him to do this. He has to decide to do it himself. We all know this. Should be interesting.
