Yesterday I experienced a Non Scale Victory (NSV). DH and I made a quick overnight trip, that involved watching our granddaughter cheer. Afterwards, we planned to get our camper, and move it from one storage unit to a new one close to our new community. Long story short... the game went into overtime, which made us 30 min late in leaving.
The drive involved 2 lane highways, in the dark, for 3 hours, with very little healthy eating options along the way. Additionally, the new storage unit closed at 10pm. We decided to go straight home and then go back today during daylight, rather than risk missing the 10pm closing time, and no place to keep the camper overnight.
So what was the victory? We stopped at Chick-fila for dinner. While DH enjoyed a regular sandwich and waffle fries, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (I had a salad at lunch already). I stayed within my calorie range!
Once home, we relaxed in the den and I noticed I had NO swelling in my feet! Usually when we are driving for long periods of time, my feet will swell. Guess my healthy eating is paying off in a major way!
This gives me confidence today to eat a healthy breakfast, walk, and pack a healthy lunch for our journey today!
