My Coat Was Begging for Mercy

Thursday, January 23, 2020

I do car duty every morning at my school. I smile broadly, open doors and help children greet the new day. Right before Christmas I noticed my coat was begging for mercy. I could zip it but it fit much like a sausage casing fits around ground pork. I have been putting one foot in front of the other since January 1. I am down 12 pounds and today as I prepped for car duty, I zipped that sucker up with ease and could peek down the inside of this vessel of warmth to the floor...no contact with my huge belly was made. This, my friends, is a silly but serious non scale victory. The tightness whispered words of failure to me. Today's turn of events gently spoke the words I can do this.

Have a great day!
