Looking back

Thursday, January 23, 2020

While sitting here thinking how long I have been a Sparker, I think back when I first started, the struggles I went through were nothing like I go through now.. 10 years can do a lot to a person physically.
SparkPeople has helped me in so many ways as long as I would log in and keep track of everything. I would do so well and lose a good amount of weight, but then slack off. I would gain the weight back, making me feel so discouraged. Then I would quit sparking again.
I have done this through 10 years of my life. I am now 10 years older with more physical problems.
I know if I hadn’t quit and gave up so easily, I would be so much healthier today.
I am not trying to beat myself up over this, I am just trying to wake myself up to the fact that I cannot quit. Quitting gets you nowhere.
I know I will have my ups and downs, but I cannot quit. If I have to come back to my same blog daily to remind me, I will.
To those of you who still have your youth, take care of yourself now! Don’t QUIT!
P.S. I forgive myself emoticon

Wish there was a love button instead of like. I seriously could have just written those exact words! 11 years ago I got into my best shape ever with Spark. Kept it off for probably 5 years. The last 6 I have see sawed back up 20# and man it won’t go!

A lot of us can relate to what you had to say. We all need to stay on plan and follow through.

Welcome back!!! Yes, age does make a difference. When I first joined SparkPeople I lost weight, but I didn't become as active as I could have been. Now, after a knee replacement and hip replacement (along with some others issues), being really active is more of a challenge. Still, every day is an opportunity to get healthier and stronger. We can do it!!!
