Should or Shouldn't

Sunday, February 02, 2020

Super bowl weekend and the conversation is on whether on should or shouldn't eat super bowl snacks, fried foods, pizza, chips dips, etc. Over 4 years I've been on my weight loss journey. I had to yo yo dieting for years. At 289 pounds I told myself I had to change all my unhealthy habits. I did and it was slow but I ate healthy normal foods and control my portions. Now at 206 pounds, I still eat a normal portion control diet. Today I will eat what I call junk food today at my super bowl party. I'll have pizza, chips, dip, etc and enjoy the game. I don't focus on what I should or shouldn't eat, there are no bad foods and restrictive dieting in the past set me up for failure. So today I will eat normally some snacks and pizza oh and a cocktail, I'll maintain portion control enjoy the friendship and the super bowl too. Tommorow is a new day.

How did I miss this blog?
Must have been wearing rose colored glasses and couldn't see past the CHIEFS!!!!
    Ok, enough of the CHIEFS!!!!

Got that out of my system. Just playing around.

I am sorry I didn't respond earlier though. I totally agree with you on this. We have the same attitude about eating. And deprivation doesn't work for me either, if I can't have something, makes me want it more.
Kind of like my comfort food last night. I ate the whole pan of food. 1500 calories on top of my day.
Was up 2 lbs on scale this morning.
I'm normally not an emotional eater, but hey, everyone has a comfort day, don't they?

Everyone once in awhile we say to heck with it and go out.
Of course one pays for it most the week afterwards.
However I find these times are getting fewer and fewer that
    I want to do this.
    A super good attitude.
    Keep up the good work.
    Enjoy

Honestly - one pizza never ruined anyone's healthy eating journey. It's one after another after another. Hope you really enjoyed the party.

And mighty thankful for your kind bloglove on my post yesterday. Let's all keep on sticking to the promises we make ourselves, eh?

Love this mentality! Other than legit food restrictions I have ... I think it's way better to focus on portion control rather than deprivation (which at least for me just leads to a giant binge!) Way to go!

I agree! Enjoy your junk food in moderation because by denying yourself certain foods, you set yourself up for a binge down the road when you finally give in to the craving. Have fun!!

Yaaay! I loved your entry today. Good on you!!! We can practice portion control on "junk foods" and enjoy ourselves. Rigid thinking and behavior isn't the most healthy either!

I am making pulled pork sliders, with sides of chips, veggies and apple Brandy cocktail... Lookin forward to Jenny Lopez at half time.... (heard she was performing).

    Have a blast Rebecca! emoticon

Have a fun, fun day with friends, the game and the food. What a journey you've been on! You have built up good habits and have shown yourself that you can plan and portion for the long run. Way to go! Let me know what your favorite commercial was, ha.ha. :)

Sometimes a little of each helps you not feel deprived or just pick your favorites and let the others pass
