Scintillating at Sixty - Best foot forward

Tuesday, February 11, 2020

2 Months to go.

I have every intention of dancing the night away even if whatever daughter is organising doesn't include dancing.  What's more I intend to wear heels.  All of which presents me with a problem.  I am still being bothered by the damn corn on the sole of my foot.  I have tried just about every over the counter preparation all without success.  I have also tried Salactol which has helped but hasn't got rid of it entirely.  I'm going 'home' again for the weekend and have decided I will pop into the walk in chiropodist in the town centre and pay them no doubt a vast fortune to deal with it.  I don't care.  Be gone you foul nasty little beasty.

My visit 'home' is for Janet's birthday.  She too is celebrating her 60th although I don't think she was too happy at the thought of it.  Odd how some birthdays seem to trouble us.  Mine was my 50th.  I really didn't like leaving my forties  Yet now I'm perfectly comfortable with the passing of another decade.  Well, lets face it - it's much better than the alternative!  The Worker Friend [?] is coming up this evening for a brief visit.  He'll also be coming to collect me from Elaine's next Monday as we plan to take another load from her garage.  I'm about to prepare one of his favourite meals [moussaka].  Keeping him sweet doncha know.

I’ll be sixty next year. Seems like a big number but I don’t feel any different than I did at 40...

I really hope you can get some relief for your poor foot! Regardless of footwear, well-being is deeply affected by injured feet!

My 60th birthday was my worst fear. Now that I am past that one maybe my 70th won't be so bad.

I’ll be 68 in a few days...can’t wait to be 70 and show off how hale and hearty I can be...just like my older sister, who is climbing Machu Pichu in April!

50 was grand! No one believed me. In fact, I had waited eagerly to join a group where you had to be 50. They tried turning me away at the door! I had myself "done" for 60 and if I say so myself, looked amazing. All downhill and can't wrap my mind around # starting with 6!
