Try something new

I like to try new foods. DO you? It keeps my menu interesting to try something new.
I do not eat much rice. I do not enjoy the taste and it has so many carbs and calories.
SOme good recipes use rice.
For fried rice I have started using cauliflower rice. It cuts down the calories and tastes delicious.
This week I tried another kind of rice. Chickpea rice made by Banza.

COmpared to regular brown rice, it has 11 grams of protein, versus 3 grams; 5 grams of fiber, versus 3 grams, and 25 carbs versus 32.

A typical serving is 1/4 dry. This makes about one cup. It is easy to make just add to boiling water and cook about five minutes. I do not add salt when I cook it. I drained it in a mesh strainer and rinsed it. It does foam when cooking.
I added some spices and a variety of steamed veggies to it. I enjoyed it very much.
I am glad I tried this check pea rice and I will be using it again.
