Timing my power walks

Yesterday morning I was elated to get out and do a 4.25 mile power walk. I felt great afterwards However, as the day wore on, ( I was very active having my great granddaughter over for the day and keeping her entertained) I found myself getting exhausted. I actually had a nap before dinner accidentally as I never sleep during the day. It was about an hour before dinner and my GGD had gone home and I just fell asleep on the couch while watching the TV. I felt tired for the rest of the evening and went to bed early . I slept for 8.5 hours which I felt refreshed this morning when I got up but was afraid to go out power walking early again for fear of making myself too tired later on in the day.

After dinner this evening I went out power walking and I felt great afterwards and I still feel great at 10:00 pm. I feel invigorated. I'm hoping that if I go out in the afternoon to power walk tomorrow I won't be conking out again before bedtime arrives. I guess it will be a period of adjustment as I find out what my body has in store for me. I am a year older than I was last year when I had to stop power walking/running due to injuries.

They are calling for periods of snow tomorrow and I don't babysit the GGD so if I can get out early before it snows I will and then I can see if it was a one time thing that I felt exhausted or if I need to actually adjust the time of day I get out there.
