A Little Push. Hebrews 10:9-25. February 15 2020 .
“A word filly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
Have you ever been stuck in the snow with your car? Then someone comes along and gives you a small push, and you are on your way again. It was just a little push, but it was all that you needed.
Your son has tears in his eyes, because of the job you gave him to do seems monumental to him. The baskets of eggs he needed to put away was cumbersome and would take a long time to do. So you pick up a basket in each hand and put them into the cooler. When you carried those baskets for him, his whole countenance changed. It was an easy task for you, but it was an awesome job for a little boy.
Have you ever been overwhelmed and weary because of an assignment in front of you? You share your concern with a friend, and he gives you a spiritual push. To him it was only a small push, but to you it was sufficient. That push was all it took to give you the confidence to carry out the task.
Paul was not a super man; he also needed a little push at times. He acknowledge that the encouragement he received from some of his friends was exactly what he needed. 1 Corinthians 16:17,18.
God uses other people in the church to provide pushes. Would you like to be used by God to encourage others? Look for opportunities to encourage someone today. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, and He will put you in the right place at the right time.
